Work Experience

Description:
Hello, I'm Inés, a nurse from Spain. My total experience is 13 months. Mostly, I've been working in hospitals for 7 months. I also have been working in a retirement home for 3 months and my last work was in a public health centre for 3 months. I would like to work as a nurse in England because I would like to learn about the health system there and I also would like to share my knowledge and skills with the other nurses. I think it would be a good experience for both. I also would like to work in England because I love english language and the culture.

Nurse

Public health centre

July 01/07/2011 - September 15/09/2011

In the public health centre the patients who arrived there were chronic patients. They came to visit the doctor and after that, they came to the nurses’ consultation to receive the medication that the doctor had prescribed. So, there assisted a lot of people along the day. Checking the vital signs which the doctor asked, like: blood pressure, heart rates, oxygen levels, temperature and the respiratory frequency. Checking the glucose to diabetics patients. Curing the patients with injuries, scalds and varicose ulcers. Handing out the medication: IV, IM and oral medication. Putting in some catheters to the patients who couldn’t have pee. Putting in some injections and vaccinations like: influenza and tetanus. Doing some EKG tests if necessary. Taking out blood samples for analysis. Attending the patients at patients’ home with the doctor and the ambulance because these patients couldn’t come to the public health centre. Attending the patients at patients’ home to cure the patients with varicose ulcers because they couldn’t move. Sewing the patients with thread.
