Staff Nurses

Our client is looking to recruit Registered General Nurses for their Nursing home in West Sussex. This is respectable and well know home with high standard of accommodation and care.

Summary:

As a nurse you will be responsible for the well being, i.e. the physical, emotional and social needs of the service users in a caring, kind and respectful manner, preserving dignity and self respect at all times.

Job Description: 

- To provide the highest standards of holistic care and attention for the service user.
- To participate fully in the overall care of the service user as per care plan.
- To provide support to other staff, including the home manager.
- To assist in maintaining safe levels of care and assuring safe practice by supporting and supervising care assistants.
- To help provide essential physical and mental stimulation by participating in or encouraging recreational and social activities with service users individually, or in a group.
- To assist in maintaining accurate records in accordance with registration and legal requirements.
- To ensure the best utilisation of staff resources, informing the Manager of staff coverage.
- To carry out procedures as instructed by Registered Nurses/Manager
- To attend staff training, staff meetings and mandatory training.
- To report any accidents relating to staff and/or service user as per procedures.
- To ensure that the Company Policy on confidentiality is upheld.
- Comply with written and verbally agreed conditions of employment, e.g. hours of duty, uniform, time keeping and generally setting an example for care assistants to follow.
- To be respectful and courteous when dealing with colleagues, relatives and professionals, and so promoting Company philosophies.
- Practice the correct methods of lifting service users and heavy objects, and make use of the various lifting aids available.
- To help with the induction/probationary period of new care assistants.
- Have insight into prevention of cross infection.
- To assist in the maintenance of a safe and healthy working environment by ensuring adherence to Health and Safety policy and procedures.
- To maintain the medicine trolley e.g. cleaning bottles and keeping shelves clean and tidy.
- To practice within NMC code of conduct and guidelines.
- To handle medication in accordance with NMC practice.
- To comply with The Mental Capacity Act, The Data Protection Act, The Care Standards Act 2000, Health & Safety Law and any other legislation pertaining to your work.
- To ensure that shifts are adequately covered in the absence of the Manager in relation to both staffing numbers and skill mix.
- To manage deployment of staff.
- To carry out duties efficiently to ensure smooth and consistent delivery of care.
- To ensure that sufficient supplies are available at all times.
- To report immediately any damaged or broken equipment, and any incidents which potentially could cause harm. In the absence of the Manager, to handle such issues.
- To prepare for, and manage, GP visits.
- To carry out regular equipment checks.
- To carry out extended role procedures where qualified to do so, recognising individual limitations.

Tier 2 visa can be arranged for non-EEA nationals!
